Classic Impalas are one of the many models that we see newly listed dozens of times per week, and sifting through the project cars and low-riders can be a laborious task. But when we eventually come across one that has been faithfully restored (using all factory components) to how it would’ve looked when it rolled off the showroom floor, it jumps out like a gem among rocks.
Finished in Roman Red over red vinyl with black and red striped cloth inserts, this 3rd gen. Impala retains its original 409 cu. in. 6.7L Turbo-Fire V8 mated to a matching-numbers 4-Speed Synchro-Mesh manual transmission and factory Positraction rear end. The seller says that every aspect of the car was refinished during a body-off restoration, and the quality and cleanliness shows from the engine bay to the undercarriage and everywhere in between.
While not exactly cheap, pricing is in between Hagerty’s #2 and #3 cars (closer to #2), which we think is extremely fair considering its condition and the manual transmission, as well as the 20% boost in value for factory SS trim.
