Ready for TROG: 1929 Ford Model A Roadster

Why We Like It

The Race of Gentlemen is our favorite vintage inspired event where pre-war, period correct hot rods fly down the hard-packed sand beaches in New Jersey. They’ve spread their wings out over the last few years to include races in Pismo Beach, California and a street drag race in Santa Barbara.

It was built around an all steel Ford body and is powered by an H&H flathead V8 from the 1940’s that produces 200 hp. Additional components include triple Stromberg carbs, a Walker AV8 radiator, a Ford F1 gearbox, 1941 Ford Banjo rear end, 1948 Ford F1 steering box, Juice brakes, cloth wiring and more. The seller mentions that the build was recently completed and has only been driven 50 shake-down miles since. All components are said to be NOS (New Old Stock) or professionally rebuilt.

We see many of these period racers sell in the high $20k’s to high $30k’s quite often, with some excellent builds fetching even more money. The seller’s asking price on this one is just right, as these builds are purposely supposed to be inexpensive DIY-type projects. We want to scoop this one up and head over to TROG next year after this COVID madness subsides.
