Why We Like It

According to the seller, this SEMA show-quality total restoration and build started life as a 1985 Land Rover Defender “full-cab” 110, which was converted to a 2-door pickup configuration using all genuine Land Rover parts, including the doors and top. The truck was completely disassembled and then fully customized from the front bumper all the way to the taillights, with the body repainted Toyota Diamond White with a custom Blue Pearl using all high-end PPG materials and topped with Vibrance custom clear coat.

sema-quality-total-build-1985-land-rover-defender-110-custom-pickup00J0J ktYHRlXiNgtz 0pO0jm 1200x900Amazing power comes from Whipple-supercharged and intercooled "Hot Cam" GM LS3 V8 engine and GM 6-speed automatic transmission operated by a PCS pushbutton shifter. The custom 3-inch exhaust system includes a remote control button driving electronic cutouts for awesome exhaust sounds on command. Planting the power is a rebuilt LT230 transfer case, 24-spline HD front axle, Dana 60 rear axle with upgraded axle shafts, and 15-inch Black Steel simulated bead-lock wheels mounting huge 35x12.50 R15 Goodyear Wrangler MT/R tires. Heavy duty underpinnings include a complete Terrafirma lift kit and radius arms, Currie custom front and rear Antirock sway bars and custom front sway bar mounts, plus 4-wheel power disc brakes. All supporting systems, including the cooling and electrical, are restored and upgraded to match. Dynamat heat and sound insulation and Vintage Air heat and A/C ensure quiet, comfortable driving, while a killer high end custom audio system provides additional entertainment on demand. This amazing Land Rover Defender was completed during 2020 and just over 1,000 miles have been covered since. According to the seller, it comes with a clean Colorado title.

Valuation Verdict

What market value applies to this amazing, show quality total restoration and build? While restored Defenders are highly sought after and valued, this Defender 110 takes the concept to a whole new level, with every system updated and upgraded for amazing performance, off-road capability, and uncanny luxury. In looks, quality, depth, and feel, this is a custom build that is more than worthy of frontline display at the world famous SEMA custom industry show held each November in Las Vegas. The work performed to bring it all together was likely executed by committed professionals and at considerable expense. In fact, it's likely that the seller’s asking price does not even cover the cost of labor and materials, not to mention the cost of the Land Rover at the heart of it all. While the seller’s asking price is definitely not for the faint of heart or the faint of financial means, it’s likely 'Fair Market', in our opinion.
