Why We Like It

Once in a while we see something that is so overly restored compared to the value of the car that it grabs our attention and won’t let go. What would drive someone to go to such lengths with something as unexceptional as a ‘70s era passenger van? The answer assuredly has to include a huge helping of pure automotive passion with sides of personal nostalgia and neurotic perfectionism, all with a dash of craziness for good measure. Combine those traits with a little extra throw-away cash and you get the nicest 1972 Ford Club Wagon we’ve ever seen.

Still Around: Highly Restored 1972 Ford Econoline E300 Club Wagon SuperVan Custom00Q0Q i5IwcBNsnd8z 0x20oM 1200x900The seller says that everything on the van has been rebuilt and restored using new or reconditioned parts including the original 302ci 5.0L Windsor V8, upgraded C6 automatic transmission, and Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor with Petronix electronic ignition. Cosmetically, this thing is absolutely perfect with laser-straight panel gaps and an engine bay and undercarriage that are mind-bogglingly flawless. We love the that the seller chose a Viking Blue with Wimbledon White paint scheme per the 1964 Shelby Cobra 289 FIA racing colors because…well, because it’s a Ford after all!
