Introduced at Le Mans on April 26, 1998, Bentley’s new Arnage was named in homage to the challenging bend at La Sarthe, where the marque achieved its greatest victories (5 times) in the 1920s and 1930. Power is delivered by an awesome all-aluminum, twin-turbo V8 engine developing 350hp that was co-developed with BMW. Sleekly streamlined, yet classically styled bodyshells are shared with the Rolls-Royce Silver Seraph, and despite its size, weight, and wide array of luxurious appointments, the Bentley Arnage delivers truly amazing performance in every possible discipline. Just 1,182 were produced and relatively few were exported new to North America. These very potent Bentley models also marked one of the final expressions of the revered marque before its acquisition by Volkswagen AG.
This 1999 Bentley Arnage is a stellar example with just 42k seller-stated miles of use, handsomely finished in Black over Champagne leather. Powered by the twin-turbocharged 4.4L V8 engine paired with a 5-speed automatic transmission, this Arnage is stated by the seller to run, drive, and stop beautifully. Amenities include oak interior trim, a sunroof, heated seats, Kenwood head unit, and more. A clean Washington title accompanies the offering of this very fine high-performance motorcar, which rolls on aftermarket 17-inch wheels wrapped in Pirelli Scorpion Zero tires. As related by the seller, the rear suspension does not sag. Features and amenities are numerous, including powered and heated front seats with memory, dual-zone automatic climate control, cruise control, center-mounted auxiliary instrumentation, a multi-function steering wheel, 170-mph speedometer, 6,500-rpm tachometer, and digital odometer.
Over 45 examples of the Arnage, in the model’s various specification, have been offered for sale by online auctions over the past few years and values vary quite widely, usually depending upon mileage and condition, from $20k to as high as $80k. Our subsect car looks great, has relatively low mileage, seems to be in very fine condition, and is priced to sell within a reasonable timeframe. Once it sells, it should certainly be considered Well-Bought at or near the seller’s most reasonable asking price.
