A nameplate in use since the 1960s, Nissan’s Skyline carries a charismatic personal and racing heritage that influenced even the more sedate variants – and there’ve been many iterations over the years. The R33 evolution of the Skyline series debuted in August 1993 and ushered in a wide array of stylistic, mechanical, and safety enhancements to the line. The R33 styling was penned by Kozo Watanabe and production ran 1993-1998.
This attractive R33-generation Nissan Skyline GTS-T Sedan comes from the Japanese Domestic Market (JDM) with 55k miles and is quite rare here with an automatic transmission. In addition to the ‘RB25DET’ DOHC, 24-valve 2.5L inline 6-cylinder engine and automatic transmission, it features factory side skirts and a sunroof, plus an upgraded stereo, new 18-inch wheels/tires, adjustable suspension, 3-inch Fujitsubo exhaust, and upgraded intake. The interior is very nice and clean, and the car is stated by the seller to run great. It comes with a Washington title and the seller has firm pricing in mind for this rare and very nice JDM car.
While many JDM Skylines of various ages and specifications are now offered for sale in North America, it’s truly refreshing to see a high-specification GTS like this one. Not yet listed in collector car price guides here, we will surely see more cars like this soon now that the 25-year import limitation is cleared for 1996-model vehicles. The seller seems to be knowledgeable and knows the strong demand for high-quality, unusual JDM cars with a performance bent here. It should deliver a great touring experience for the next owner, and until more come arrive on our shores, we should consider this one Fair Market if it sells at or close to the seller’s ask.
